It has been a very successful start to our 2023/2024 season and we are pleased to welcome 42 new or returning members, to date with several more interested in joining in the next few weeks or at the beginning of 2024. Welcome to you all. As new members, we lovingly call you NEWBIES, you qualify for our Newbies Competition which will be held on Wednesday 27th March 2024 starting at 12:30. This is serious but fun competition, open to all members who have joined the club in 2023 regardless of their ability. The way the competition is cleverly structured (thanks to Bob Hayter), is that players play in different playing positions and with different players in each match so there is a mix of raw beginners and experienced members playing with and against you. You accumulate points in each game which you carry to your next game and the player with the most points, wins our new trophy kindly donated by Bob Kane and which will be presented to the winning Newbie at our prize giving on the 12th April 2024. If you are eligible you should have already received an invitation to play but if you have only just joined or feel that you should be included, please contact me (Alan Jaye) and I will add you to the list. We can only accept the first 32 players as that is our maximum rink capacity so if you haven’t already signed up and paid, you need to do this NOW to avoid disappointment.
