Our finals matches are now complete and the winners are listed below. However we just wanted to congratulate ALL of our competitors because reaching a final is no mean achievement. The standard of play was very high this year and there have been some upsets along the way which just goes to show that you have to be in it to win it.
This year we reintroduced the Championships for our woman members for the first time since 2011 and the response has been excellent with some excellent games and worthy winners. In fact the women’s section has shown an increase in numbers since 2019. Whilst we have a large number of new male members, we have also lost a similar amount due to retirement from bowls, ill health or moving away from the area. Trying to keep our membership numbers up when many of our local clubs both indoors and out, have struggled to retain numbers, has been a challenge so overall, we are happy with the progress we have made.
